    Our campsite has spectacular panoramic views of the Outeniqua mountains and you can see as far as Mossel Bay and up to the hills of Wilderness.

    Here at ArendsRus everything we do starts & ends with our guests. Even when we designed our campsite we put the needs of our camping guests first. We therefor carefully thought out every single aspect & detail of our campsites & ablution facilities to make sure that our guests basic needs & more have been met.

    Here are a few features of our campsite to not only make our guests comfortable as camping could be, but also to give our guests piece of mind that they will enjoy their stay with us.

    Campsite

    The campsite is situated within ArendsRus farm on the foothills of the mighty Outeniqua mountains and borders on DAFF grounds. It is completely fenced with electrical fencing on the outside
    We offer 12 Exclusive stands of which 2 is accessible for wheel chair guests
    Wi-Fi is available for free at the campsite and is accessible from every stand
    The entire campsite is fenced with a motorized gate. Each campsite will receive a remote upon checking In to open both the farms main gate & the campsite gate
    Each stand has its own white & brown water tap for your convenience. The white water comes from a natural spring on our farm & originates deep in one of the valleys and is suitable for cooking and drinking. The brown water is suitable for watering of gardens and washing of outside surfaces & vehicles
    Each stand also has its own electrical point and distribution box where you can make use of our electricity or to plug in your camper
    Each stand has its own irrigation & is turned on or off individually for each stand
    Each stand also has a light to illuminate the pole & surrounding areas
    Each stand will also be provided with a movable braai for their convenience

    Ablution

    We have 3 ablution buildings each with 4 complete bathrooms making 12 fully equipped bathrooms
    Each campsite will be provided along with the remote for the gates, a key for their individual private bathroom only to be used by their particular stand
    All the bathrooms features a toilet, basin, shower, a cupboard where you can keep your toiletries, a hand towel ring & 4 clothing hooks
    On the outside a washing trough is provided for guests to wash their dishes & has cold and hot water.

The themed chalets are all constructed out of wood, giving it a unique, yet unmistakable charm.   • Cowboy’s Hill

    Cowboy’s Hill

    This unique private camp site on Kleine Windpompie Farm is located only 6km from Barrydale. Just off Route 62 and close to the surrounding amenities and popular tourist attractions, this stay is ideal for an in-between stop or a longer stay over.

    Break away into nature, mountain views and the bushy Klein Karoo. With a private bathroom, small kitchen, and braai area, you can enjoy your peace in a private space.

    This lovely stand has an tent already set up with 2 single beds. You just bring your own bedding and towels. There is space to set up your own second tent should you wish to book for more people.

    Here you also have limited solar electricity for lights and to charge devices. A two plate gas stove and a small fridge to ensure a comfortable camping experience. Water is heated by a wood fired donkey, piped to an open air shower.

    Walking and cycling trails, mountain views, open air, starry skies, sun rise and unforgettable sunsets.

    This is a must holiday or weekend get away!

    Roads are easy for high clearance vehicles types. 4X4 is required in wet conditions.

    Please note that it is a working farm with animals. Only friendly, well behaved dogs are allowed.

    Stands allow for 4 to 6 guests per stand.

    Kudu house is a 5 bedroom house. All bedrooms have En-Suite Toilet and Shower. The house offers and Patio and Boma area.
    The kitchen is fully equipped. Towels and linen are provided. Firewood free of charge.
    The house also overlooks a busy waterhole.

    With Amanzi Trails Orange River Adventures, there is no need to keep chasing #offthegrid adventure. Your adventure starts right here at our doorstep!

    Those who have already had the opportunity of visiting us will attest to the ‘must’ of this memorable experience. Our camping area has 24 spacious, shady, and luscious green campsites equipped with everything you might need for a tranquil stay. The sites vary in size, accommodating anything from 1 – 4 vehicles with additional space for caravans and trailers. The campsites have electricity, water, and braai facilities.

    We offer clean ablution blocks with hot showers and good water pressure. A scullery which offers hot water for washing dishes and cleaning laundry is available at both the ablution blocks.

    You can even rent a canoe to enjoy the Orange River on your own or book a day-trip with one of our experienced River Guides. For the more adventurous, we also have 2-4 day guided tours on the Orange River.

    Tibani Nature Reserve Mongoose camp

    Tibani nature reserve is a hidden gem only 14km from the historic town of Montagu. Come and experience the beauty of this private reserve with its more than 40 mammal species which include, leopard, aardvark, gemsbok, kudu, springbuck, zebra and many more and more than 100 recorded bird species. The reserve consists of different biospheres boasting many a different plant species as only found in the karoo. The rock formations are spectacular, and the views from different areas on the reserve are breathtaking. Sit in your private hot tub with your loved one and a glass of muscadel and enjoy the most amazing sunsets and stars in the karoo night sky. As the sun sets you will hear the jackal or owls calling their mates just before you settle in for a perfect night at the Mongoose campsite with its private ablutions and free WIFI to let your friends know what a wonderful time you are having.
