As evening approaches, the landscape transforms with spectacular sunsets before giving way to the clear, dark skies for which the Sutherland region is famous.

OUDEBERG LODGE

For guests looking for comfort, privacy and a touch of luxury in the wilderness, Oudeberg Lodge is our flagship accommodation.

The Lodge is completely off-grid and has been designed to complement its natural surroundings while still providing guests with the comforts needed for a relaxing stay.

It accommodates up to 8 guests in four private, free-standing chalets, each with its own en-suite bathroom and private outdoor area overlooking the surrounding Karoo landscape. (Oudeberg Lodge)

A separate central living area brings everyone together and includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge with a fireplace. Facilities include a fridge/freezer, gas cooking facilities, dishwasher, coffee-making facilities and Wi-Fi.

Because Oudeberg Lodge operates off-grid, guests get to experience the peace and simplicity of remote Karoo living without sacrificing comfort.

The Lodge is particularly suited to families, groups of friends, couples travelling together and guests looking for an exclusive retreat surrounded by nature.

OUDEBERG FARMSTEAD

For those who prefer a more traditional Karoo farmhouse experience, the Farmstead provides comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to 8 guests.

The Farmstead has four bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, making it ideal for families and groups travelling together.

It offers the relaxed atmosphere of farm living combined with modern conveniences, including a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, ice machine and bean-to-cup coffee machine.

During the colder Sutherland months, electric blankets and additional bedding help keep guests comfortable.

It is a wonderful base from which to explore Oudeberg and the surrounding Karoo before returning to the warmth and comfort of the farmhouse.

WILDLIFE CAMPING

For guests wanting to get even closer to nature, Oudeberg Wildlife Camping offers a more rugged and authentic wilderness experience.

Here, the emphasis is not on luxury but on location.
