Located at the foothills of the stunning Magaliesberg mountains, Piesangkloof offers an “Off the Grid” bush camp experience on a private farm. Enjoy hiking, cycling, 4×4 trails, and quad biking in the unspoiled natural beauty of Hartbeespoort. With jaw-dropping scenic views and water pools in the ravine, our bush camp provides a serene escape for outdoor enthusiasts. A self-help braai facility is also available at the camp.

We offer venue rental for events and special occasions. Pricing is determined on a per-arrangement basis, with quotes provided upon request.
About the Trail:
Piesangkloof is designed exclusively for 4×4 vehicles with high clearance (No 4×2). The trails are rustic and natural, featuring technical sections that traverse the foothills of the Magaliesberg mountains. Enjoy breathtaking views overlooking Hartbeespoort Dam and surrounding farmlands. There are currently two standard trails:
- Trail 1 (Short): Technical and takes approximately 3 hours to complete.
- Trail 2 (Long): More technical, advanced/extreme, with high clearance required, and takes approximately 5 hours to complete.
Trail Rating/Grading:
- 40% = 3/4
- 60% = 4/5
Please note: Participants must use their own vehicles and quads, as rentals are not available. Quads must be either Low Range or 4×4.
Other Activities/Facilities:
Our open land space is ideal for birthday parties, functions, events, shows, expos, training, and team-building activities. Due to the rural, unspoiled nature biosphere area, there are no toilet facilities on the trail or at the top of the mountain. Once you go 4×4… you go bush!
Self-Catering Accommodation – Bush Camp:
Experience back-to-basics camping in the tranquil setting of Magaliesberg. Our private bush camp offers self-catering accommodation with Bush Wendy Houses. 4×4 trailers, bush wagons, motorhomes, caravans, and tents are all welcome. The camp includes braai and pit fire areas, natural/old school ablution facilities (“veld-toilet” and donkey showers), and no electricity. Wildlife viewing is a highlight, and there’s a small splash pool for cooling off on hot days. We are pet-friendly, but please arrange upfront.

Venue Renting (Events):
Our venue is available for renting for functions, birthdays, parties, bachelors, team-building activities, and more. Please arrange your own setup, furniture, décor, background music, vendor stations for beverages and food, additional portable toilets, medics, security, etc.
Note: Group bookings at the bush camp are on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those who make the first deposit payment. Due to the unique nature of our bush camp, we can only accommodate a limited number of group bookings per weekend.
